I have a PDF file with the creation date of 1/1/2008 at 12:00:00 AM and I know it has been changed from the real creation date. Is there any way the creation date could have been changed to the above inadvertently?

Please identify the time stamp: which creation date are you referring to?

When you say 'has been changed from the real creation date', do you mean that the file once had a different creation time stamp, but it was physically modified? Or do you mean that the expected creation date was not assigned, and another time stamp was used instead?
