I am currently working a case that has some Google Hello Chat logs. Because Google discontinued this application back in '08, I am having a hard time finding a copy for research.

Does anybody know where I can obtain a copy?

Also, I have been able to view the chat logs in FTK but is there a better tool out there for pulling data from the Google Hello format?

Thanks,

There was a program from an examiner in the UK called Google Hello Examiner (GHE). I do not have a link handy, but Google is your friend.

Hi,

I am the author of GHE. I must apologise for the link being broken. I checked it fairly recently and it was still working.

A friend hosts the file for me, I will catch up with him some time later today.

Feel free to pm me and I will get the latest version emailed to you.

Kind regards,

Andy Ward.

Thanks guys.

I know I am probably missing something really simple here, but it doesn't look like the PM module is installed on this Forum?

I've been in contact several times, but I have not heard back and I don't want to continue to bother him. I was hoping someone else had a link or working copy...

I am so sorry - I don't normally check this forum. Maybe I should.

I still have the application and am happy to send to anyone wishing to download it.

Kind regards,

aWardy

I did have my email address listed here.... I've just edited and removed it as some a-hole is using it to spam the world.... Funny, add your email address to a forensics forum and 4 hours later for the first time in the email addresses 9 year history, it gets hacked.

aWardy, I would much appreciate it if you could sent me the program. I need it for a CP-case I'm working on.
