I use my Sony handycam to monitor my apartment. I am wondering if there is any software to detect manipulation of video files. For example, if someone cut or inserted parts of a video file, which software can I use to dectect such manipulation of video files?
As far as commercial tools, dTective from Ocean Systems is typically used to analyze A/V files.
There are other ways to detect changes. For example if you have a fairly static scene you could look for changes in the scene. You could examine the control track and look for changes. You could check for continuity in the time code.
Of course without quite a bit more information, these are just guesses.
